Lancaster city police and the Lancaster County Drug Task Force took an alleged heroin dealer off the streets on Friday.

Richard "Bimbo" Rentas-Rentas, 24, of 240 Coral Street was arrested Friday. He was charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of bail.

A search of Rentas-Rentas' home turned up 896 packets of heroin with an estimated street value of $8,960, one Taurus PT745 "Pro" .45-caliber semi-automatic handgun with loaded clip, $11,235 in cash and approximately $10,000 to $15,000 in disc jockey and electronic equipment.

In a garage in the 600 block of Ocean Avenue, police found and confiscated a 2000 Honda CBR 600 F4 motorcycle and a 1994 Honda station wagon.

Police described Rentas-Rentas as an "upper-level" heroin dealer who was supplying heroin dealers in the southwest section of Lancaster city.

Friday's arrest was the culmination of a six-month investigation.
