REUNION: The planning committee for Penn Manor High School's Class of 1990 20th year reunion is updating contact information for members of the class.

The reunion will begin Oct. 1 at the high school football homecoming game. A dinner banquet will be held Oct. 2.

BAZAAR: United Zion Retirement Community, 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, will host its annual Spring Bazaar from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 20.

The bazaar is hosted by the Women's Auxiliary Board and the Activities Department of retirement community.

PARK CLEANUP: The Reamstown Memorial Park Association will hold a Reamstown Memorial Park Cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon March 20.

OPEN HOUSE: The Susquehanna Waldorf School, 15 W. Walnut St., Marietta, invites parents and children to attend an open house from 10 a.m. to noon March 20.

Pre-K, kindergarten and grades teachers will be available to explain the curriculum and answer questions.

There will be activities for the children showcasing the Waldorf curriculum. The school store, Under the Sycamore Tree, will be open during this time as well.

> Relay for Life Team Kealey will host a beef-and-beer fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. March 20 at American Legion Post 34, 1388 Arcadia Road.

> Rowdy Rankins Relay for Life Team will hold a "Pancakes and More" all-you-can eat breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. March 20 at Grace United Methodist Church, 163 W. Frederick St., Millersville.

Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 to 10.

> The 13th annual Family Skate for Abby will be held from 1:30 to 4 p.m. March 21 at the Lancaster Ice Rink,  371 Carrera Drive.

The fundraiser benefits the Abigail L. Longenecker Memorial Foundation.

Admission is free. Skate rental is $2, if needed.

The event is in honor of Abby Longenecker, who died of Atrial Myxoma — which ultimately caused her to have a stroke — at the age of 9 on April 29, 1997.

The Abigail L. Longenecker Memorial Foundation was established in 1998 to provide funds to nonprofit organizations for specific projects benefiting children in Lancaster County.

> Brickerville House Family Restaurant, 2 East 28th Division Highway, Lititz, will host a fundraising breakfast from 6 to 11 a.m. March 22.

The breakfast will benefit United Disabilities Services, a Lancaster-based not-for-profit organization.

> Isaac's Restaurant & Deli (Ephrata), 45 N. Reading Road, Ephrata, will hold a "Community Night" fundraiser benefiting the American Cancer Society and "Walking For Hope" Relay For Life Team from 5 to 9 p.m. on March 25.

Twenty-five percent of the cost of a meal will go directly to the "Walking For Hope" and the American Cancer Society.

> Calvary Fellowship Homes, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community at 502 Elizabeth Drive, will hold its annual fundraising auction from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27 in Nissley Fellowship Hall.

Proceeds benefit the community's benevolent care fund.

The auction will feature handmade quilts, antiques, collectibles, furniture, pictures, books, lamps, china and jewelry. Previews will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 26 and 7:30 to 9 a.m. March 27.

Bidding for items in the silent auction — theme baskets and gift certificates — will close at 12:30 p.m. March 27.

Robert E. Martin & Sons, Leola, will serve as auctioneers.

Food and home-baked items will be available for purchase at both previews as well as during the auction.

> The Welsh Mountain Community Center, 564 Sandmine Road, New Holland, will hold spring scrapbooking "crops" from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 27 and April 24 to raise funds to benefit its park.

Spaces (two people at each eight-foot table) will be available on a first come first served basis.

The $25 fee will include lunch, snacks, goodie bag and door prizes.

> 2 Cousins Pizza in Ephrata will hold a fundraiser March 29-31 to benefit multiple sclerosis.

Fifteen percent of customers' bills will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, central Pennsylvania chapter.

POLKA: The Dutchland Polkateers are sponsoring a polka and variety dance featuring the Polka WHDO from 7 to 11 p.m. March 20 at St. James Social Hall, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz.

Admission is $12 and includes chips, pretzels and refreshments.

GARDEN SYMPOSIUM: The 18th annual Garden Symposium sponsored by the Penn State Master Gardeners and Cooperative Extension of Lancaster County will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 20 at Willow Valley Resort, 2416 Willow Street Pike.

The Symposium is designed to inform professional and home gardeners about trends in gardening. Experts will present hour-long presentations throughout the day and allow time to answer questions.

Topics will include "Naturalistic Gardening" (Greg Tepper), "Underused Ornamental Edible Plants" (Pandora Young), "The Garden in Winter" (David Culp), "Sensory Appeal of Native Plants" (Tepper) and "Making a Garden" (David Culp).

The cost for the all-day event is $55, which includes a continental breakfast, gardening handouts, five seminars, a catered lunch, refreshments, vendors, free parking and door prizes.

Seating is limited, and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

A separate form is necessary for each person registering.

TEDDY BEAR CLOCKS: National Watch & Clock Museum, 514 Poplar St., Columbia, will hold a "Teddy Bear Picnic" Family Timepiece Workshop at 10 a.m. March 20.

Participants are invited to bring  their teddy bears and after enjoying a teddy bear snack, create a clock to take home. The wooden clock is in the shape of a teddy bear with the face of the clock in the bear's stomach. After painting and decorating the framework, a clock is inserted and batteries are installed.

Cost is $10 for each clock, and admission to the Museum is included with the workshop fee.

CONCERTS:

> The Singing Boys of Pennsylvania and Keystone Girls Choir will perform as part of the Garden Spot Village Saturday Evening Concert Series at 7 p.m. March 20 in the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Donations to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, which helps support residents who need financial assistance, will be accepted at the door.

> The Conestoga Area Historical Society, 51 Kendig Road (Ehrlich Park), Conestoga, will host a concert from 3:30 to 5 p.m. March 21 featuring the The Lonesome Stragglers band.

The concert will be held at the society's Gundel Hall.

LECTURES:

> The Lititz Historical Foundation will present the last in its winter lecture program at 2 p.m. March 21 at The Steinman Arts Center, 212 E. Main St., Lititz.

Michael Zimmerman will do a program on The Buzzard Gang. The group consisted of a total of 20 men, seven of which were brothers, who committed crimes all over Lancaster County in the late 1800s into the early 1900s. The gang was based out of the Welsh Mountains, in a cave under Blue Rock.

Admission is free.

> Haitian-American author Edwidge Danticat will present the Hazel I. Jackson lecture at 7:30 p.m. March 24, in the Lehr Room of Gordinier Hall at Millersville University.

No tickets are required.

Several of Danticat's books have appeared on the New York Times national bestseller list.

Danticat was born and raised in Haiti by her aunt under the dictatorial regime of Francois Duvalier. She will talk about making a new life in a new country while fearing for the safety of those still in Haiti as the political situation deteriorates.

> In celebration of High Library's 20th anniversary, Jeff Bach, director of Elizabethtown College's Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studies, will give an illustrated lecture about the many facets of G.N. Falkenstein, one of the college's founders.

The free event will take place at 4 p.m. March 31, in High Library's Winter Alcove, second floor.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the High Library and the Office of Institutional Advancement.

BASKET BINGO: The Manheim Township Lions Club will hold a Basket Bingo on March 20 at the Neff Elementary School, Valley Road, Neffsville.

Doors will open at noon, and bingo will start at 1 p.m.

There will be 20 regular games plus special games and door prizes.

Food will be provided by Boy Scout Troop 84.

Donation is $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

> The Millersville Senior Center will hold its luncheon at noon March 22 at the Millersville Veterans of Foreign Wars, 219 Walnut Hill Road, Millersville.

> Norlanco Relay For Life will hold its fifth annual Survivor Fashion Show & Luncheon at 11 a.m. March 27 at Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, 351 W. Middle Creek Road, Lititz.

Themed gift baskets will be raffled off at the event to benefit this year's Norlanco Relay For Life.

The deadline to purchase tickets, which cost $20, is March 19. Tickets cannot be purchased at the door.

GALA: The Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite the public to the 2010 Elizabethtown Gala from 6 to 9 p.m. March 26 in the Susquehanna and Swatara Rooms at Elizabethtown College.

The year's theme is "Around the World." Food stations will feature cuisine from Asia, Brazil, Caribbean, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain and the United States.

Business attire preferred.

> Marticville Marathoners Relay for Life Team will hold its second annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 7 to 11 a.m. March 27 at Pequea Church, 40 Church Road.

BANQUETS:

> The Mix at Arbor Place will hold its annual Spring Fundraising Reception and Banquet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 25 at the Willow Valley Resort & Conference Center.

Paul H. Kreider will be the keynote speaker. In his role as a senior human resources business partner, Kreider played key roles in the design and implementation of numerous change management and leadership development initiatives throughout The Hershey Co. over the last two decades. He also was an associate professor at Penn State University in the field of management development.

San Diego Chargers tight end Kris Wilson also will be a guest speaker.

The Mix At Arbor Place Spring Banquet is open to the public free of charge.

The Mix At Arbor Place is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to meeting the academic, recreational, social and spiritual needs of inner-city teenager's 13-19 years old, living in Lancaster city.

> Heifer International will hold three information/fundraising banquets in Lancaster County on April 12-13.

The April 12 banquet will be held at 6 p.m. at Hempfield Church of the Brethren, 1186 Stevens St., Manheim.

Two banquets will be held on April 13. The first one will begin at noon at Wolfe Auditorium at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike. The second one will take place at 6 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 8 Quarry Road, Leola.

Jan West Schrock, daughter of Heifer International founder Dan West, will be the speaker. She will speak on "Making a World of Difference: Making a Different World," which will focus on Heifer's current direction in the U.S.

Cost is $140 for a table of eight at any of two banquets.

Admission is $18 for the Brethren Village banquet only.

 The deadline for reserving a table at all banquets is April 1.

Spruce St., Lititz, on the second anniversary of Resolution 586, which recognizes March 30 as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day in Pennsylvania.

EDUCATION: Heritage and Horizons, an educational program for adults, will be held on five consecutive Tuesdays beginning March 30 at Church of the Apostles, 1850 Marietta Ave.

Courses offered are "Inside the County Justice System," "Local Architecture," "Books and Authors: Reading and Enjoyment" and "The Sounds of Music."
