Four suspected drunken drivers caused crashes Friday night and Saturday morning, police said.
No injuries were reported in any of crashes.
Shawn R. Krause, 41, of Washington Boro, was driving in the 500 block of West Walnut Street at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday when he struck four parked cars, police said. He then fled from the scene on foot, but police caught up to him and took him into custody.
Krause was charged with four counts of hit-and-run, drunken driving and driving with a suspended license, police said. He was released on unsecured bail.
• Damion Gregory Charlton, 25, of Narvon, was involved in two separate hit-and-run wrecks in New Providence on Friday, state police said. They happened at 12 Main St. and 79 Main St. at about 7 p.m.
Charlton then took off on foot and broke into a nearby residence in the first block of Truce Road to seek refuge but was later apprehended there, police said.
• Darrel Vincent Peachey, 31, of Christiana, crashed his vehicle along High Street in Sadsbury Township, a half mile north of Upper Valley Road, at about 1 a.m. Saturday, state police said. His vehicle rolled on its side.
Police charged him with drunken driving and several traffic offenses, they said.
• A vehicle driven by Casey Lafferty, 22, of New Holland, struck a dump truck and front end loader being used to remove snow at Diller Avenue and West Main Street in New Holland shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, New Holland police said. Lafferty also struck a truck that was traveling south on Diller Avenue.
Officers got a description of Lafferty's vehicle, located it and identified its driver as Lafferty, police said. She was taken into custody for suspected drunken driving and taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for a blood alcohol content test.
Charges are pending those results.
CRASHES: One person was injured in a chain-reaction crash Saturday afternoon in Ephrata.
Police said a vehicle driven by Jacie Parmer, Stevens, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Irene Lukus, of Ephrata, in the 1000 block of West Main Street at 12:14 p.m. The impact pushed Lukus' vehicle into the rear of vehicle driven by Sharon Huffman, of Peach Bottom. Lukus was treated and released from Ephrata Community Hospital for minor injuries.
• An East Donegal Township man was injured when his vehicle struck a pole in the 2600 block of Maytown Road (Route 743) near Maytown shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday, Susquehanna Regional Police reported. The man, who police did not identify, was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Police said they did not know the extent of his injuries.
Wires were down along the road and Maytown Road was closed for a time between Donegal Springs and Bullmoose roads, a county dispatch supervisor said.
•State police said Terry L. Hartranft, 58, of Narvon, drove through a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by John R. Kiely, 52, of Glenmore, Saturday morning at Routes 23 and 10 in Caernarvon Township. No one was injured.
• A four-vehicle accident happened in the 300 block of Beaver Valley Pike in West Lampeter at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday, police reported. No one was injured.
Rosellen Blessing, 60, Quarryville, was distracted by a snow plow and did not see traffic stop in front of her, police said.
Her vehicle struck the back of a vehicle driven by Marion Pinckney, 82, Quarryville, which was then pushed into the back of a vehicle driven by Duane Kline, 39, of Quarryville.
A vehicle driven by Ronald Gieg, 61, of New Providence, struck the back of Blessing's vehicle, police said.
The 200 to 400 blocks of Beaver Valley Pike were closed for an hour.
HIT AND RUN: Ephrata police are looking for the driver of Ford vehicle that struck a parked car in the parking lot of Olde Lincoln House, 1398 W. Main St., and fled the scene Friday at 8:45 p.m. Police said the Ford may have damage to the front passenger side. Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 738-9200.
DRUG CHARGES: State police are charging Garrett David Alleman, 21, of Lititz, with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop Friday at Route 322 and Crescent Avenue in Ephrata Borough, police said.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT: State police charged Colton David Keech, 20, of East Fallowfield, with disorderly conduct Feb. 2 in the 5500 block of Old Philadelphia Pike, Gap, police said. He allegedly was outside a business using profane language and being disorderly.
DRINKING CHARGES: City police charged Germaine L. Smith, 34, of the 400 block of Waterford Court, with public drunkenness Saturday morning after a disturbance at The Village, 205 N. Christian St.
• Several people were charged after police broke up a party early Wednesday in the 400 block of Old Bluerock Road.
Joseph P. Swift, 18, Christina M. Swift, 19, both of Old Bluerock Road, Cody J. Frusetta, 19, of Hearthstone Drive, and Chad M. Thomas, 18, of Champside Circle Drive, Conestoga, were charged with underage drinking. Tonya M. Swift, 44, of Old Bluerock Rd., was charged with selling or furnishing liquor to minors.
FIRE HYDRANTS: A city fire official said firefighters would appreciate if residents would dig out fire hydrants covered with snow.
