Two vehicles collided head-on Tuesday in East Lampeter Township, injuring four people, police said.

No one was seriously hurt in the 8:30 a.m. wreck along Route 340, just east of Route 896, police said.

John A. Zeller Jr., 89, of Lancaster, was entering the roadway from a private driveway, police said. Charles T. Wright, 63, of Elmwood, Conn., was traveling west on Route 340.

Zeller accelerated rapidly while turning and crossed into the westbound lane, striking Wright's vehicle head-on, police said.

Four of the six occupants of Wright's vehicle sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lancaster General Hospital, police said. Zeller and a passenger in his vehicle were not injured.

Zeller was at fault for the accident, police said. Both vehicles were towed.

Route 340 was closed for a time between Route 896 and Mill Creek Road.
