4 caught in sweep by task force

The Lancaster County District Attorney's Drug Task Force reported the arrests of four city men last week on multiple drug charges.

Franklin Brindis-Alamo, 38, of the 300 block of Beaver Street, was taken into custody around 8:50 p.m. Thursday after task force members and city police executed a drug search warrant at his home in the 300 block of Beaver Street, police said.

Brindis-Alamo was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and other charges as a result of transactions made in November and December 2008 in the city and Lancaster Township, police said; he was committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $300,000 bail by Magisteial District Judge Mary Sponaugle.

Also on Thursday, authorities charged 28-year-old Aaron Leshawn "Hass" Robinson, first block of Conestoga Woods Road, and Kevin Lynn Buckwalter, 36, 300 block of Park Lawn Court, with multiple offenses.

Robinson was charged with three counts of delivering cocaine, two counts of criminal conspiracy to deliver cocaine to an undercover officer and using a cell phone unlawfully to arrange delivery, police said; he was committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Buckwalter was charged with two counts of cocaine delivery and two counts of criminal conspiracy to deliver cocaine, police said.

The men worked together on two deliveries in January, police said. Another delivery was made by Robinson in November.

The deals took place in Lancaster and in a parking lot at Park City Center.

Wednesday, task force members teamed with East Hempfield Township police in searching Jack A. Rittenhouse Jr.'s home in the first block Duo Drive, East Hempfield Township.

Police said they concluded a two-month investigation by arresting the 53-year-old man and charging him with criminal conspiracy-unlawful delivery of the anxiety relieving drug Alprazolam/Xanax on Jan. 14 in a parking at Park City Center.

Rittenhouse, who was working with an unidentified 19-year-old male, sold the controlled substance to an undercover officer for $50, police said; District Judge Mary Sponaugle committed him to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Found in Rittenhouse's residence, according to police, were 20 Alprazolam/Xanax tablets, 122 Oxycodone tablets and empty Oxycodone prescription bottles.

HIT AND RUN: Police are seeking the driver of a blue or purple snowmobile that struck the side of a vehicle Saturday in Earl Township.

Police said the snowmobile was traveling illegally down Redwell Road when it went through a stop sign at Peters Road and struck a vehicle driven by Nathan P. Bouffard. The rider was thrown from the snowmobile, police said, but climbed back on and left.

•Someone driving south on Hilldale Road, Martic Township, left the road just south of Bradys Hill Road and drove into a yard in the 400 block of Hilldale Road. The vehicle struck two trees and plowed through a flower bed before regaining the roadway and leaving the scene.

•The driver of a silver pickup truck with black trim caused an accident in Rapho Township and drove off Thursday.

State police at Ephrata said the truck turned left onto Route 722 in front of an eastbound car driven by Karl R. Herzer, 54, of Elizabethtown at 5:41 p.m. Herzer swerved into the westbound lane and struck the right front of an oncoming car.

The truck fled west toward Mount Joy. No injuries were reported.

IDENTITY THEFT:
A Rapho Township woman reported to state police at Ephrata that when she checked her credit report Thursday she found several credit accounts opened in her name that she did not authorize.

MAILBOX SMASHED: A mailbox was destroyed in the first block of Blue Jay Drive overnight Thursday, East Cocalico Township police said.

MAN STRUCK: A man trying to fix his disabled vehicle was injured when a passing vehicle struck it shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Millersville Road, Manor Township police said.

Luis Hernandez-Santiago, no age or address available, was taken to Lancaster Regional Medical Center with a hand injury, police said.

The driver did not see the Hernandez-Santiago vehicle pulled over because of the snow, according to police.

DRINKING CHARGES: Stacey Allen Vance, 42, Lancaster, was stopped by officers about 1:54 a.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Lincoln Highway East and cited for public drunkenness, East Lampeter Township police said.

•Raymond L. Allmond of 1310 Rawlinsville Road, New Providence, was stopped for a traffic violation Friday morning and was arrested for driving under the influence.

•Michael F. Diffley IV, 29, of Doher Drive, was stopped by officers in the 100 block of Jennings Drive, Lancaster Township, at 9:13 p.m. Thursday and arrested for DUI, Manheim Township police said.

•Shawn M. Reilly, 44, no address, was arrested for public drunkenness shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday after he knocked on the door of a residence in the 700 block of Tusitala Drive and then sat down on the porch, Manheim Township police said. He was cited and released.

•A vehicle driven by William Yarnell, 50, of Newmanstown, drifted into oncoming traffic in the 200 block of Broad Street and struck a southbound car Friday at 4:50 p.m., Lititz Borough police said.

Yarnell failed a breath test and faces charges of driving while intoxicated, according to police.

THEFTS:
  Angel L. Rivera-Morales, 44, of South Marshall Street, was arrested at 4:08 p.m. Thursday on charges of trying to steal seven cans of deodorant from the Giant store at 1605 Lititz Pike, Manheim Township police said.

Police said Rivera-Moralis struggled with store security officials after they saw him leaving without paying for the items, valued at $86, and tried to detain him.

Officer Lee Billiter charged Rivera-Morales with retail theft and turned him over to the county Booking Center, pending arraignment, police said.

Sherrie L. Pope, 34, Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, was arrested on theft charges shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday at the Sheetz store at 1699 Oregon Pike by Officer David Onda, Manheim Police said.

Pope, who took a taxi to the store and left without paying for $46 worth of merchandise, also could not pay the $18 cab fare, police said.

Store employees detained her, according to police, and she was cited for theft of services, retail theft and public drunkenness.

•A man in his 30s walked out of Michael's Arts, 1645 Lititz Pike, Thursday without paying for items worth $621, Manheim Township police said. The man left the merchandise in the parking lot when confronted by employees and fled. The incident happened at 8:10 p.m.

•Glenn Conner, 61, of Denver, was cited with retail theft after police said he loaded 20 grocery items worth $135 into bags and left Weaver's Market, 2610 N. Reading Road, without paying at 11:57 a.m. Thursday, East Cocalico Township police said.

•An unknown person entered Lanco Hydraulic Services, 15 S. Belmont Road in Paradise Township, on Thursday or Friday and stole nearly $40 from the cash box and break room.
