Man charged with threats in Lititz

A 48-year-old man claiming to have a gun threatened people in Lititz, hid from police and then fought with officers, Lititz police reported Monday.

Mark A. Degenito, whose last known residence had an Akron address, was charged with terroristic threats, resisting arrest and loitering and prowling at night.

Degenito claimed to have a gun and threatened people in the first block of North Broad Street in Lititz shortly before midnight on Saturday night, Lititz police said. He then fled.

Degenito was identified by witnesses, and police found him hiding in a yard in the first block of South Broad Street.

Degenito fought with officers from the borough and Warwick Township until an officer Tasered him and he was arrested. No one was injured.

Degenito was arraigned and sent to Lancaster County Prison, police said.
