Teen charged in crash that hurt 5

East Cocalico Township police on Wednesday charged a Reinholds teen with driving under the influence during a violent crash Nov. 21 that injured all five people in the vehicle, including the driver.

Ethan Michael Hartman, 19, was charged with DUI, aggravated assault while DUI and furnishing alcohol to minors.

Police said Hartman was legally drunk around 4 a.m. Nov. 21 when the car he was driving at a high rate of speed in the 900 block of Schoeneck Road, West Cocalico Township, crashed into a telephone pole and then rolled over several times.

None of the four passengers in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt, and they all were ejected from the car.

A 16-year-old Denver girl was critically injured.

David Brubaker, 18, of Ephrata, a 16-year-old Reinholds boy, a 16-year-old Denver girl and Hartman all suffered injuries.

All five teens are recovering, police said Thursday.
