Dutch-Way renovates
Last month, Dutch-Way in Gap finished the relocation of its restaurant and is now working to enlarge its grocery store.
The Dutch-Way complex at 365 Route 41 in Gap, formerly had a 100-seat restaurant but moved into adjacent space that had been occupied by a hardware store. With the move, Dutch-Way Family Restaurant grew to 275 seats and added a buffet, which features traditional Lancaster County fare. It now also has space for banquets.
As part of the expansion, Dutch-Way is enlarging the grocery store by moving into the space that formerly housed the restaurant. The grocery store is now about 35,000 square feet and will add another 5,000 square feet. Among other things, the meat and deli departments will be growing, said Jeff Snader, one of the owners. With the expansion, about 50 employees have been added, Snader said.
Dutch-Way also has locations in Schaefferstown and Myerstown.
