Six people were reportedly injured in a two-vehicle accident in Providence Township Sunday evening.
The accident occurred at 5:11 p.m. on southbound Route 272 at Pennsy Road.
According to police, Sharon Usner, 48, of Pequea, was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass east on Pennsy Road and failed to stop at the stop sign at Route 272.
When Usner's car traveled into the southbound lane of Route 272, it was hit by a 2006 Buick Terraza driven by Tammy McKibben, 34, of Peach Bottom.
Upon impact, McKibben's car flipped over onto its hood, which is how rescue crews found it.
A 1999 Acura driven by Shelley Rannels, 43, of New Providence, was struck by flying debris from the crash and sustained minor damage.
Police said Usner and McKibben were taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The state police report on the accident made no mention of anyone else being injured, but Willow Street Fire Company Chief David Reese said six people were taken to the hospital from the scene of the accident.
The state trooper who investigated the accident was not immediately available for comment Sunday night.
Route 272 was closed for nearly two hours between Mount Hope School Road and Pennsy Road while emergency crews and police were on the scene.
