A Willow Street man has been charged with drunken driving in connection with a one-car wreck that seriously hurt a Lancaster man, Southern Regional police reported today.

Michael T. Helm, 38, of the 500 block of Brenneman Road, was found to have a blood alcohol content level of .199 percent, police said. The wreck occurred in the 600 block of Sandhill Road, Conestoga, on Wednesday.

Helm's passenger, Donald R. Metz Jr., 26, of the 1100 block of Eshelman Mill Road, suffered serious facial and head lacerations in the crash, police said. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
