The death of a Bainbridge man after a bar fight has been ruled a homicide, Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said Monday.

An autopsy Monday showed that Charles Martin, 47, died of traumatic brain injury, Diamantoni said.

Because police are still investigating the incident, Diamantoni said he could not say whether Martin sustained any other injuries during the fight.

Martin died Saturday at Hershey Medical Center, where he was taken after an altercation Thursday night at the Bainbridge Inn on North Front Street.

Susquehanna Regional Police Lt. Stephen Englert said Monday that investigators have interviewed a person of interest but have filed no charges.

Englert said police "pretty much know what happened" Thursday night but will complete their investigation and then review the case with the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office to discuss possible charges.

Police and medical personnel were dispatched to the tavern about 11 p.m. for a report of a person who was not breathing after being punched in the face.

According to previously published reports, Martin was fighting with one other man whom he knew.
