The parade, which is slated to begin at the Farmersville Fire Co. and end at the square in Ephrata, is “on hold,” said Doupe, pending the outcome of the well-chronicled doping scandal Landis is now facing.
Landis, who came back from 11th place to capture the most prestigious cycling race in the world, tested positive for an unusually high ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone levels during the race and is awaiting a second urine test which would either confirm the original findings or clear Landis of any wrongdoing.
While Landis has maintained his innocence, if the second test comes back positive, Landis could become the first cyclist ever stripped of the Tour de France title. If he is cleared, the parade could happen at any time or when Landis returns to the area.
