Three caught in drug sting

Friday the 13th turned out to be an unlucky day for three people rounded up during a drug detail around Lancaster city.

Officers from the city police's Selective Enforcement Unit, assisted by officers from the Street Operations Group, targeted street-level drug dealers by using an undercover officer to make "buys."

Police said they arrested the following:

•Harrice Manaya Watermyer, 38, of the 100 block of East Walnut Street, for delivery of crack cocaine, a felony; conspiracy to deliver cocaine, a felony; and prostitution, a misdemeanor; and related offenses.

•Patrick Allen Woodward, 44, of the 1100 block of East Orange Street, for delivery of crack cocaine, a felony and possession of cocaine, a misdemeanor.

•Eric Dewayne Wormley, 38, of the 100 block of East Walnut Street, for delivery of crack cocaine and conspiracy to deliver cocaine, both felonies. Wormley is also wanted in Harrisburg for a prior felony delivery of a controlled substance charge, police said.

FIGHT VICTIM STILL CRITICAL:
A Bainbridge man remained in critical condition Saturday after a Thursday night fight at the Bainbridge Inn.

Charles Martin Jr. was taken to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center after the fight, which happened around 11 p.m.

Martin was fighting with one other man, whom he knew, Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman said Friday.

Stedman said Saturday that no charges had yet been filed, and that the man with whom Martin fought was not in custody. Stedman said the man was cooperative, that the incident was not random and that "there is no danger to the community."

ROBBERY: A 15-year-old boy was assaulted and robbed by two other teenage boys at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, in the 500 block of West King Street, police said.

The assailants stole the victim's Blackberry cell phone and silver-rimmed glasses, police said.

CRASHES:
An Ephrata man was in serious condition Saturday at Lancaster General Hospital after his bicycle was struck by a pickup truck around 9:20 a.m.

A spokesman with Ephrata police said that Eugene Martin, 48, of Frysville Road, was taken to the hospital with head injuries, but that he was "alert and awake" when he was transported.

Police said Martin was eastbound in the 900 block of Glenwood Drive when the pickup, driven by Kevin Zimmerman, 20, Ephrata, crested a hill and struck Martin from behind. Both vehicles were heading in the same direction, police said.

•Jacquelyn A. Hedges, 20, Narvon, was westbound on Route 322, Caernarvon Township, when she lost control of her vehicle, state police at Ephrata said. The car spun, struck a telephone pole, and spun again before it came to a stop on the south side of the road, police said. It happened Thursday at 6:50 a.m.

DUI:
Rafael Montanez Jr., age not reported, Lancaster, was arrested for driving under the influence and traffic related offenses at 1:29 a.m. Saturday at Clark and Broad streets, city police reported.

•Joshua J. Fry, 19, Narvon, was charged with driving while intoxicated after a one-car crash at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, state police at Ephrata said. Traveling in the 100 block of West Maple Grove Road in Brecknock Township, Fry drove off the road and struck a wooden fence and parked car, police said.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS:
New Holland police reported that Joshua Michael Welsh, age and address not reported, was seen staggering across Diller Avenue at 12:36 a.m. Saturday.

Welsh was stopped for public drunkenness. It was determined he had been acting in a disorderly manner and was kicked out of a bar, police said. Welsh had apparently been arguing with patrons and threatening them before he was told to leave, police reported.

Welsh was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, according to police. He was then driven home.

•Terrell L. Scott, 22, Lancaster, was arrested for public drunkenness after being involved in a disturbance in the 400 block of North Prince Street at 1:51 a.m. Saturday, police said.

•Simon DeJesus, 40, Lancaster, was intoxicated and unable to walk when police stopped a vehicle in which he was a passenger just before midnight Friday, police said. DeJesus was charged with public drunkenness.

•Andre T. Jackson, 46, Reading, was arrested for public drunkenness in the 400 block of North Queen Street at 1 a.m. Friday, police said. Police used a Taser to stop Jackson when he got into a car while trying to flee, police said.

UNDERAGE DRINKING: Jerome Lamar Stringer, 20, Bausman, was charged with underage drinking at 3:03 a.m. Saturday in the 700 block of East King Street, city police reported.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES:
Unlocked vehicles parked in front of six homes in the 100 block of Jeanel Circle, Elizabeth Township, were rummaged through overnight Thursday, state police at Ephrata said. Change worth $6.50 was taken from two cars.

•Valuables were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Ice Avenue at 8:26 a.m. Friday, police said. These include: a Sony stereo, a wooden speaker box with a 15-inch speaker, an amp, and two small cases containing at least 50 compact disks.

VANDALISM: A Chevrolet Blazer was keyed, the oil filter of a lawn mower dented, and three solar lights knocked over at a home in the first block of Sleepy Hollow Road, Elizabeth Township, sometime between Tuesday night and Thursday morning, state police at Ephrata said.

•The first floor window of an apartment in the 100 block of South Prince Street was broken at about 6 a.m. Saturday, police said.

CRIMINAL TRESPASSING:
According to state police, Steven C. Butler, 25, New Providence, entered a Quarryville woman's home early Thursday morning saying he wanted to talk to her. Butler left and then returned, police said. He was charged at 7:40 a.m. Thursday with criminal trespassing.

RETAIL THEFT:
A 14-year-old boy was charged at 4:52 p.m. Friday with retail theft, harassment and disorderly conduct at Park City Center after shoplifting an item, police said. The boy fought with store security, biting, kicking and using profanity before he was arrested, police said.

•Two girls, ages 14 and 16, were arrested for retail theft just before 3 p.m. Friday at Park City Center, police said.

WARRANTS: Tracy A. Bowman, 44, Lancaster, was arrested on an outstanding warrant at 10:45 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Manor Street, police said.

•Robert E. Bonsall, 28, Lancaster, was arrested on outstanding warrants at 7:41 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of East Walnut Street, police said.

•Felipe F. Andujar, 30, Lancaster, was arrested at 12:10 p.m. Friday on a county bench warrant and several warrants from city police, police said.
