A fight in a local tavern has left a 47-year-old man hospitalized.
Charles Martin Jr. is at the Hershey Medical Center following a fight that broke out at around 11 p.m. Thursday in the Bainbridge Inn. Martin, of Bainbridge, is listed in critical condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman, who said she did not know whether he had regained consciousness.
Lt. Stephen W. Englert of the Susquehanna Regional Police would not confirm reports that Martin had suffered a heart attack during or immediately after the fight.
"We responded to the Bainbridge Inn along with EMS units from Susquehanna and Northwest, along with the Bainbridge Fire Company," Englert said. "CPR was performed."
No arrests have been made in the case and no charges filed, Englert said, but he added that "a person of interest has been interviewed."
Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman said Martin and the man he was fighting with knew each other.
"We know who was involved, and we've talked to the people there," Stedman said.
Police are "still actively investigating" the incident, Englert said.
