Thieves working near the Route 30 strip stole more than $10,000 worth of merchandise during daylight hours Friday and Saturday, East Lampeter Township police said Monday.
Four of the five victims said items were stolen from their vehicles.
Linda Rivera, 29, of Lancaster, told police that someone stole about 300 CDs from her vehicle in the first block of Foal Court shortly before 9 a.m. Friday. Her loss is about $3,000.
Ryan Ebersole, 26, of Lancaster, told police that someone stole from his vehicle at about 12:30 p.m. Friday a .50-caliber muzzleloader, a compound bow in a plastic case, 12 camo arrows with no tips and a compact disk case with about 50 CDs. His vehicle was in the first block of Acorn Boulevard, not far from the state police's Lancaster barracks, police said. Ebersole's loss is $1,485.
Lindsay Staeger, 31, of Springfield, said that just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday someone stole three credit cards from her purse while she was at Rockvale Outlets, police said. The cards were then used at various stores along Route 30. Her loss is $4,773.
Two thefts from vehicles were reported about an hour later in the Polo Ralph Lauren parking lot at Tanger Outlets, police said.
Matthew Potter, 34, of Lancaster, told police that someone forcibly entered his vehicle and took a $500 GPS unit, police said.
Oscar Jimmy Larosa-Villarreal, 30, of Mount Carmel, told police that someone broke into his vehicle and stole an AM/FM/CD player, an MP3 player and a stereo. His loss is $350.
