Some of the most interesting news, and often the strangest, can be found in our police logs. Take a look.

• In East Lampeter Township, a college student was reported to have driven into a shopping cart in a parking lot. He was arrested for underage drinking and taken back to his school, his car left in the lot. Not much later, the student was seen "stumbling" along Lincoln Highway East, headed for the parking lot to get his car. This time he was arrested for public drunkenness.

• An Ephrata man and woman were arrested for shoplifting after Lancaster police stopped their car. Besides finding the stolen merchandise in their car, police also discovered the car was carrying a stolen license plate.

• A 25-year-old Manheim Township driver who punched another driver in a road-rage incident probably thought that driver didn't belong on the road. Then again, neither did the puncher. He was driving under suspension.

• After his car broke down in West Hempfield Township, a man who had been drinking called a friend — who also had been drinking — for help. Police also responded and arrested both men for public drunkenness.

• If you don't brush and floss:

A man who robbed a restaurant on Columbia Pike suffered the indignity of being described in a police report as having "bad teeth."

• Seeing the light:

You have to be stupid to drive drunk in Manor Township. Police there earn awards for getting drunks off the road.

Recently, a driver was arrested one dark morning for DUI after driving past another car with his high beams on. The car was driven by a Manor Township police officer.

• Dumb and dumber:

Police in New Holland were able to make arrests for criminal trespass after young people held a party at a house while the residents were away. Several partygoers posted pictures of the party — and themselves — on MySpace.

• Eating the profits?

In East Lampeter Township, a store employee was arrested for retail theft for taking food off the shelves and eating it. The police report said this happened four times. But get this: The total loss was only $10.45.

• Cell phones aren't the only distraction on our roads:

A Camp Hill man, 44, was charged with "open lewdness" when he exposed himself to other drivers while driving on Route 283.

• Where's the fire?

It is hard to keep your speed at 25 mph, but doing a speed check on Graystone Road, Manheim Townhip police caught a driver doing 61 mph.

• In New Holland, a man grabbed a donation jar at a store while the clerks weren't looking, took it down an aisle, and removed the bills. He got away with an estimated $100 intended for a literacy fund.

• A 40-year-old Leola woman was arrested for DUI after she sideswiped another vehicle while pulling into a driveway. It was her own driveway.

• Sinking feeling:

A New Holland man reported his boat stolen, only to find out the next day that a family member had taken the boat to have it cleaned and waxed as a surprise for him.

Who's in charge?
Leaving for a meeting, her mother told Abigail, 13, to "be good for your father." Abigail replied, "Shouldn't you tell father to be good for me?"
