A Denver man decided to clean out his car before he pulled over for a pursuing police officer Saturday morning, troopers said.
David Patrick Dostick, 25, Denver, was traveling south on Route 222 around 10 a.m. when state police said they tried to stop his car near Mohler Church Road in Ephrata Township.
Dostick drove for two miles before getting off the highway at Route 322, state police said, throwing "multiple objects" out of the car as he drove down the exit ramp.
Once on Route 322, police said, Dostick pulled into a store parking lot and stopped.
Dostick was charged with suspected drunken driving and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Trooper Joseph Hartranft.
There was no information on what Dostick allegedly threw from the car.
• On Sunday morning, shortly before 4 a.m., state police arrested Lewis Benjamin Knight on a suspected drunken driving charge.
Knight, 24, of East Earl, was stopped for driving erratically on Route 30 and Leacock Road in Paradise Township, police said.
Trooper Timothy Connolly, in a news release, indicated that it was Knight's third arrest for suspected drunken driving.
