A Lancaster man on Wednesday locked a 1-year-old child inside an East Petersburg home alone, with no way for the mother to get back into the home, police said.
Anselmo J. Rivera, 25, of Orange Street, was arrested after the domestic incident in the 2700 block of Madison Court, Manheim Township police said.
Rivera's girlfriend fled from the house during a verbal argument, police said. A short time later, Rivera left, locking the couple's 1-year-old in the house.
Rivera was stopped nearby and taken into custody shortly before 1 p.m., police said. He was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Rivera was arraigned before District Judge William G. Reuter and sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.
