A 23-year-old man from Mohnton, Berks County, was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in Caernarvon Township Saturday, state police at Ephrata said.

It happened just before 2 p.m. on Hammertown Road, about a quarter of a mile south of Churchtown Road, police said.

Police said Gary Raser III was southbound on Hammertown Road when he lost control of his 2009 Honda motorcycle, hitting the left rear bumper of a 2000 Plymouth Neon that was parked off to the side of the road. The motorcycle traveled more than 600 feet before coming to rest.

Raser was pronounced dead at the scene by Lancaster County Deputy Coroner Tina McKain, police said.

The driver of the Neon, Robbie Snyder, 43, no address given, and his passenger, a 4-year-old girl, were not injured, according to police.
