Man was naked, but for parole bracelet on ankle

A man was arrested after walking Denver sidewalks intoxicated and wearing nothing but a state parole ankle bracelet Saturday afternoon, East Cocalico police said.

According to police, passing motorists reported the naked man in the 500 block of North Sixth Street at about 5 p.m.

Police said they found Douglas Fehr, 38, in the 500 block of North Seventh Street, wearing only the ankle bracelet, and a sheet provided by a passerby just before they arrived.

Fehr, of the 500 block of Hertzog Valley Road, Denver, will be charged with public drunkenness and open lewdness, police said. East Cocalico police had him in custody Saturday night awaiting transport to state prison.

Since 1993, Fehr has been convicted of theft by deception, forgery, receiving stolen property, use or possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence, according to court documents.

STABBING: A stabbing victim arrived at Lancaster General Health Campus late Saturday afternoon, apparently mistaking it for an emergency hospital,  and was taken by ambulance to Lancaster General Hospital, according to East Hempfield Township police. No further information was available, but the incident is being investigated by the Northwest Regional Police Department, which covers the Mount Joy area.

DISPLACED BY STORM:
American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley is aiding a family of  three adults who were displaced when heavy rains Friday caused the roof of their mobile home in the 3300 block of Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, to cave in. The Red Cross is assisting them with lodging, food, clothing and medications. To volunteer for the Red Cross, or make a contribution, call  299-5561.

NURSE STILL MISSING:
Police are investigating the disappearance of Lancaster General Hospital nurse Toni Lee Sharpless, 29, of West Brandywine Township, Chester County. Sharpless has not been heard from since 3 a.m. Aug. 23, when she text-messaged her 12-year-old daughter after a night of clubbing with friends in Montgomery County. Police had no new information Saturday.

ACCIDENTS:
A 17-year-old Manheim resident was in critical condition at Lancaster General Hospital after a one-vehicle accident that happened about 5 a.m. Saturday on Fruitville Pike, between Oak and East Sunhill roads.

The driver was southbound when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a telephone pole, Penn Township police said.

•Southbound on Colebrook Road, Samuel E. Marazzani, 31, Lancaster, was turning left onto Auction Road when he struck motorcyclist Anne R. Phillips, 42, of Manheim, as she tried to pass on the left side of his vehicle, state police at Ephrata said. It happened at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Phillips, who was wearing a helmet, was treated for injuries at Lancaster General Hospital and released.

•A two-vehicle accident that closed  the 1300 block of Georgetown Road, Bart Township, was reported at 5:35 p.m. Friday.

Eight injuries were reported, and the accident victims were  taken to Lancaster General Hospital.

State police are investigating.

Assisting at the accident were Christiana ambulance, LEMSA, Susquehanna Valley EMS and Gordonville ambulance.

ARRESTS: Alicia Johnson, 19, of Darby, was arrested Friday in Philadelphia on a New Holland police warrant for terroristic threats. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Rodney Hartman and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail, New Holland police said.

•Kelly B. Aul, 30, of the 300 block of South State Road, Talmage, was arrested on a warrant Friday in New Holland and committed to Lancaster County Prison for a probation violation, New Holland police said.

DRINKING CHARGES:
Leroy Fisher, 61, of the 2500 block of Bachmanstown Road, Ronks, was arrested for public drunkenness at 1:40 a.m. Saturday after he was observed staggering in the roadway at East Franklin Street and South Railroad Avenue, New Holland police said.

Fisher had been cited for public drunkenness on South Railroad Avenue an hour earlier, police said.

•John Gentel, 60, of New Holland, was arrested for public drunkenness around 5 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of West Main Street, New Holland police said.

Gentel, who had been swearing at passersby while seated on a bench, was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for observation, police said. He was later released to the county sheriff's office on an outstanding bench warrant.

THEFTS:
A small amount of cash was stolen Wednesday from an office at ABC Groff Inc., 110 S. Railroad Ave., New Holland police said.

A rear door in a fenced enclosure was pried open to gain access, police said. A burglar alarm in an adjoining building apparently scared off the thief.
