A Christiana man struck a police officer during an incident Saturday at the man's home, state police said.

Clifton Crawford, 43, of 28 Broad St., struck borough police Officer Russell Moore with his hands and feet, causing minor injuries, Trooper Michele Smith said Monday.

Smith said that the altercation occurred while Moore was attempting to take Crawford into custody after being dispatched for a domestic dispute at 5:45 p.m.

Crawford is charged with felony aggravated assault on a police officer and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, police said.

He was arraigned Sunday and released on bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
