Joseph Sabol is employed.

The 27-year-old, who made headlines in April for his unusual job search, is working at LA Fitness in Pottstown.

"I've always had education in sport," he said last week. "I've lived my whole life in the gym basically."

Sabol, who graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, lost his job at Redner's Market corporate offices in December, so he took to the streets.

Dressed in a suit and tie, he wore a sign declaring "College grad looking for employment," and handed out resumes at Oregon and Lititz pikes three days a week.

Sabol got many interview offers, including one for a car sales position that could earn as much as $100,000 annually.

But when an April 20 follow-up article said Sabol had turned down the car sales position because he was waiting for the "perfect" job, his luck turned sour.

"A lot of people felt like I was trying to take advantage of people," he said.

So he ended his roadside endeavor.

However Sabol, who lives in Manheim Township, is happy with his work as the membership counselor at LA Fitness, where he has been employed for about a month.

"I just want to do something in my field of study," he said. Sabol has a bachelor of science degree in physical education and sport.

His dream job is marketing assistant for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but for now, he's concentrating on his new job.

"I'm just going to do my best," he said. "Continue to work hard, do my best at the gym and good things will happen."
