SATURDAY: Quit wastin' away in Margaritaville! Whether you're a Parrot Head, music lover or just a person who enjoys a summer party, you might want to check out "Summer in Paradise 2009," Saturday night on the Pa. Renaissance Faire grounds. Music? It's on tap with The CalypsoNuts (as crazy as their name implies), Tall Daddy (with singer/songwriter Tall Paul and harmonica guy Crawdaddy, and Tropical Soul, a band that has opened for Jimmy Buffet himself. There will be contests, food, drinks and fun. One catch — you've got to be 21 or over to enjoy this paradise-inspired benefit for Easter Seals. Sorry minors! For details or tickets ($25), call 591-7027 or visit www.essummerinparadise.com.

FRIDAY: On First Friday, downtown Lancaster becomes a feast for the eyes. But on the third Friday of each month, it becomes a feast for the ears. Tonight from 5 to 10 p.m. (or thereabouts) bands and solo acts playing covers and originals, acoustic, electric, you name it, you'll probably find it playing in downtown shops and even in the streets for Music Friday. The free event is picking up steam and gives the artistically inclined (or even just the bored) another reason to come downtown. Shown above are the Enharmonics, a jazz quartet from Cherokee High School in Canton, Ga., who will be performing at Building Character, 342 N. Queen St. Other details are included in the R&R with R&R column, page 10. For details, visit www.downtownlancaster.com.

FRIDAY-SUNDAY: There aren't too many places you can go to take part in an outhouse race or skydive bingo. But you can during Terre Hill Days which continues right through the weekend at Terre Hill Community Memorial Park, 210 Lancaster Ave., Terre Hill. The family-friendly festival, which opened Thursday, features rides, games and nightly live music, plus lots of food, a cruise night (tonight), fireworks (Saturday) and a whole lot more. It closes out Sunday with a community church service and picnic in the park. For details, call 445-4581 or visit www.terrehilldays.com.
