A new One for Sushi

Sushi One, a Japanese restaurant, opened July 1 at 1961 Fruitville Pike. The 2,000-square-foot restaurant in Foxshire Plaza has seating for about 20 in a dining room and at a small sushi bar.

Sushi One's menu features nearly 60 types of sushi rolls, plus appetizers, soups and salads, as well as sashimi and other nonsushi dinner entrées such as teriyaki and fried rice. Most sushi rolls cost around $5, with specialty rolls around $10.

The restaurant offers delivery and takeout as well as BYOB. It has five employees and is managed by Kenny Foo, who also co-owns it. Foo also is a co-owner of Ginmiya, a Chinese/Japanese restaurant in York.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Brew store coming

Mr. Steve's HomeBrew Supplies, which has a store in York, plans to open a location in Lancaster in early September at 3043 Columbia Ave., in the Western Corner Shopping Plaza.

The 2,000-square-foot store, near Route 462 and Centerville Road, will carry supplies and ingredients for making beer and wine. Owner Steve Stoppard says he caters to new brewers and will offer free workshops on various techniques. He also has equipment and supplies for making soda. Stoppard used to have a brewing supply store in Lancaster near Dillerville Road, but closed it about seven years ago.

Expected hours: noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Shoe store opens

Walk in Style, a store selling women's footwear and accessories, opened June 27 at 356 N. Queen St. It takes the place of White Elephant.

Walk in Style sells high-fashion shoes for women as well as handbags, sunglasses and jewelry. The store owner is Kelly Ballentine.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Dollar Tree opens

A new Dollar Tree store opened June 25 at 5360 Lincoln Highway East, Gap. The 6,821-square-foot store sells discount merchandise for $1 or less. The variety chain has more than 3,600 stores in 48 states, including five others in Lancaster County.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
