A sex offender faces a Megan's Law violation charge after police say he failed to report his recent whereabouts.

City police on Thursday charged Ismael Antonetti-Ortiz, 61, of 648 Marietta Ave., Apt. 1, with failure to comply with registration of sexual offender requirements.

City police said Antonetti-Ortiz told state police he moved to 552 S. Duke St. on Aug. 30, 2007.

Antonetti-Ortiz later allegedly moved to 552½ W. Grant St., then to another Grant Street address and then to 648 Marietta Ave. Apt. 1, without telling police as required, police said.

He also allegedly did not tell police about his new employment.

City police said he previously was convicted of indecent assault.

Megan's Law imposes a number of rules on some people convicted of sex crimes, including the requirement that they notify police of their address.
