Firefighters from Lancaster and Chester counties battled a smoky blaze Thursday evening that destroyed a Little Britain Township barn.

Crews were dispatched to 95 Kirks Mill Road, Nottingham, at 6:20 p.m. and remained on the scene for three hours, according to reports.

Robert Fulton Fire Company Chief Ray Glick said the blaze was called in by the owner, Robert Dolinger, who was moving hay into the barn when the fire started. Glick said it appears exhaust from a skid loader ignited a bundle of hay.

The two-story bank barn is a total loss, with damage estimated at $200,000, Glick said.
