Emergency crews responded to an accident Tuesday afternoon in Providence Township that required one woman to be extricated from her car.

Willow Street Fire Company Capt. Craig Rhineer Jr. said the accident happened about 2:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Lancaster Pike, in an area known as Polecat Hollow.

A Subaru Legacy driven by a woman and a Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by a man collided head-on.

Crews had to remove the woman from her vehicle, and she was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Rhineer said the man didn't sustain any injuries.

The cause of the accident wasn't immediately known.
