An accident in Huron killed a Terre Hill man and injured his passenger.

The Highway Patrol said James Schneck, 23, failed to yield at a Highway 14 intersection and his pickup was hit by a semitrailer truck Wednesday morning.

Schneck died at the scene.

The patrol said a passenger, Kelson Vaillancourt, 21, of Huron, S.D., was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The truck driver was not injured.
