It took 10 tries, but the Lancaster Barnstormers finally won outside Pennsylvania in 2009.

Jed Morris doubled three times and drove in three runs, leading a 17-hit attack, as the Barnstormers crushed the Somerset Patriots, 11-5, Wednesday evening at TD Bank Park. Every Barnstormer in the starting lineup had at least one hit.

Trailing 2-1 entering the third inning, Lancaster loaded the bases with nobody out on an error, single and walk. L.J. Biernbaum drilled a single past first baseman Josh Pressley to tie the game. After Jared Gothreaux (2-3) struck out Ryan Mulhern for the first out, Morris cleaned the bases with a double to left center.

Bryan Sabatella walked, and, one out later, Amadeo Zazueta tripled to right center, scoring two more for a 7-2 lead.

Zack Parker struggled to hold the lead. The left-hander allowed a third run in the third inning on a walk, single and wild pitch. He was lifted from the game following a solo home run by John Nelson and a walk to Sean Smith. Parker walked six batters and threw two wild pitches in 3.1 innings.

Ross Peeples (1-1) came on to get a double play on his first pitch. He threw 2.2 shutout innings to notch the win, holding the 7-4 lead.

Lancaster salted the game away with two runs in the eighth on RBI singles by Sabatella and Michael Campbell. Ryan Mulhern doubled home a run in the eighth, and Sabatella added a sacrifice fly.

The Barnstormers and Somerset conclude their four-game series tonight. Lancaster returns home Friday for a six-game homestand against Bridgeport and Newark.
