New bar planned
The owners of Strawberry Hill Restaurant plan to open a new bar at a former private club at 30 N. Water St., behind the Pennsylvania Academy of Music.
The bar, to be named Grass, will have an Irish theme and feature a sod floor that will be changed at least once a month, said Chip Kerek, one of the owners.
The bar is now seeking a liquor license, and Kerek said he expects it will open by the end of the year.
Grass will have seating for about 50 inside, with room for about 60 more at an outside patio. Some renovations, including painting, already have begun. Kerek declined to discuss the costs.
