Police said a report of gunshots Thursday morning led them to a marijuana-growing operation in East Petersburg.

Terrence L. Rainar, 59, was arrested and charged for the growing operation and other offenses, police said.

Police said Rainar was found with several marijuana plants in his home at 6335 Hollow Drive.

Officers said they also found an illegal weapon at the home. Police didn't describe the weapon, saying only that it was a gun and Rainar was charged with possessing an "offensive weapon."

Police were dispatched to Rainar's home after neighbors said they heard gunshots in the area. No charges had been filed Thursday night in relation to the reported gunshots.

Police seized the weapon and the plants.

In all, Rainar is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, prohibited offensive weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was to be arraigned late Thursday night or early today. Bail was to be set at that hearing.
