An action-sports store, Zumiez, will open by early September in a 4,000-square-foot space in the Boscov’s wing formerly occupied by A Dollar.

Zumiez sells clothing and accessories for skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing and BMX racing. It features brands such as Billabong, Burton, Element, Quiksilver and Roxy.

Zumiez, which recently opened a location at Tanger Outlet Center, operates some 140 stores in roughly 19 states, mostly in the Western U.S.

Also in Park City:

· New York & Co. will reopen next week in its newly remodeled location in the Boscov’s wing. The women’s apparel retailer was temporarily in the Sears wing.

· The Children’s Place plans to operate out of a temporary location in the JC Penney wing while it remodels and expands its 4,600-square-foot store in the Boscov’s wing.

The project, expected to be finished in September, will add 800 square feet to the store, which sells clothes and other merchandise for children up to 10 years of age.

· The Shoe Department is planning to grow its Sears’ wing store from 5,800 to 8,000 square feet by expanding into a recently vacated store next door.

· Claires, which retails accessories for girls, will begin a remodeling project in August that will expand its store from 1,200 to 1,900 square feet.

· Things Remembered, which sells personalized gifts, will move next week from a kiosk in Center Court to a 1,200- square-foot store in the Boscov’s wing.

· New kiosks include: Crocs, which is selling its brightly colored, rubbery shoes in Center Court; Massage Hut, now giving massages in the JC Penney wing; and Gothic I & II, offering gargoyle statues and the like in the Boscov’s wing.

Crystal Pools

Crystal Pools opened a new showroom and warehouse last week at 1272 Manheim Pike, in a space previously occupied by Yale Electric.

The 9,000-square-foot showroom offers pool equipment and supplies. Sales staff can assist with purchasing and installing in-ground and above-ground pools.

The Elizabethtown-based pool supplier also has retail locations in Hershey and Mechanicsburg.
