The Lancaster Arts Hotel is a little off the beaten path from downtown Lancaster and when First Friday arrives each month, it can get lost in the heavy traffic.
So the hotel, which now features two art galleries, decided to shift lanes a little.
Their artist's receptions will now be on the third Friday of the month, during Music Friday.
"We'll still be open on First Friday, but we thought we'd have the artist's reception with a
blues fest," says Lisa Clemens, director of the arts hotel gallery.
Octavia and the Earthblood Blues Band will perform Friday and Mitch Lyons will be the featured artist.
On Feb. 20, the Reese Project and artist David Bottini will be featured.
And on March 20, the Billy Penn Project and artist Milt Friedly will be featured.
"We'll have a little Cajun food along with the wine and cheese," she says. "We'll try it out and see how it works."
And with the forecast calling for possible record-breaking cold weather Friday night, Clemens suggests coming to the Arts Hotel.
"You can stay put in the lobby and stay warm," she says.
