Most ordinary people, having gained 50 pounds in two years, will move like they have lead ingots in their shorts.

Antonio Giorgio isn't ordinary people.

The Warwick junior showed he'd lost none of his cat quickness in the journey from 160-pound freshman to this year's 215 pounds, and the Warriors (4-0 league, 10-2 overall) proved they are the Section One Big Dog with a 47-21 demolition of Manheim Township, Monday night in Neffsville.

In a highly anticipated matchup of unbeatens, Giorgio (24-0) teched out Township's Cutter Recher (24-1) in 4:40, rolling up a 16-0 score.

Entering the match Recher knew he would have to keep Giorgio from executing his fireman's/dump series from neutral and stay out of Giorgio's tilts on the bottom.

Giorgio hit a dump, then a pair of 2-point tilts in the first two minutes.

"Sometimes the best laid plans just can't be implemented the way you'd like them to be implemented," observed Streaks coach Joe Narkiewicz.

"I was hoping to get to him pretty quick," Giorgio said. "Hit him hard, break his confidence."

With Giorgio leading 7-0 and the second period all but history, Recher got in on a single-leg shot and seemed primed to secure control.

In the blink of an eye, Giorgio did a 180 on the "trapped" leg, dropped in behind Recher for the takedown and put Recher on his back as time expired.

The wrestlers were neutral at the start of the third period and Recher got in on another single. Again, Giorgio spun. Again, Giorgio got the two, then rolled Recher into a tilt. Ballgame.

"I've always worked out with people lighter then me," said Giorgio, recalling summer club workouts with the Peppleman brothers and Tony Dallago, key members of Central Dauphin's Mid-Penn powerhouse.

"When we worked on our feet, I got used to that quickness, that speed; the quick singles that (Recher) was trying to hit."

As the evening unfolded with Cody Diem's forfeit win at 103, realists knew there was little chance of Township (2-2, 9-6) keeping the Warriors from taking the Whisler-McDonald Plaque back up Route 501 to Lititz.

But there was a catch in the collective throats on both sides of the gym when freshman Brooks Kenderdine (19-7) put senior Richie Reinoehl on his back at the start of the 112-pound bout.

Reinoehl (18-7) rallied from 5-0 down to pull out a 10-7 win, scoring the go-ahead takedown with 35 seconds left.

After a major decision by Cody Schoenberger (12-8) at 119, Warwick went through Township like a hot knife through butter.

Ian Stoeckl (14-12), Travis Quinn (7-12), Matt Myers (17-4) and Adam Chapis (13-4) pushed the Blue Streaks to the brink of elimination with four straight falls.

The outcome was ensured by the time Eric Resch (23-2) scored a technical fall over Colin Lopez at 160.

"We came out, we were focused and wrestled hard," said the Warriors' Ned Bushong. "That's all you can ask for."

Shane Wagner (23-3) put Township on the scoreboard with an entertaining 13-11 victory over Ross Stockdale at 145.

Wagner led 6-2 before Stockdale (18-6) hit a 5-point takedown at the end of the second period.

Wagner tied the match at 8-8 with just under a minute showing. Stockdale took an 11-8 lead with 19 ticks left on a headlock slip by Wagner, but Wagner pulled out the win with a 5-point reversal.

Township also scored with wins by Luke Sims (18-9) at 152 and Austin Schultz (23-3) at 189, and falls from Ben Enck (13-9) at 171 and Ramsey Lopatic (22-5) at 285.

"There were some matchups I knew would be difficult to win," said Narkiewicz. "You can't be disappointed. It was about the best we could've done."
