www.campuscalm.com

The Point: CampusCalm "helps students become resilient to combat high school & college student stress."

Breaking It Down:

Makes the Grade: A+

Genre: Stress management

Entertainment Factor: CampusCalm doesn't do entertainment. This is not to say the site is bland, boring or banal in any way, but the page exists to direct students away from stress and distraction. Essentially, this site opts for serenity over sensory stimulation.

What this site does feature is its very own "for students" section that provides answers to stress-mess questions like, "Help! I'm in total procrastination mode all semester, then I skip sleep and stress myself out to the max before a big exam or paper," or "Help! I can be anything I want so how do I choose?"

The answer is key: This site skips the typical time-management lecture and under each plea recommends self-help volumes like Career Planning 405 and Life 101, required reading of the 2008 Campus Calm U syllabus.

Easy Street?: Easy street is certainly the fastest route to relaxation, and this site knows how to take it easy. Simply enter your first name and primary e-mail address into the fields on the home page to subscribe to Campus Calm Connections, the site's free, weekly e-zine "designed to help you BREATHE, become more stress resistant and carve out your personal definition of success and happiness." Sounds nice.

Hot or Not: You'll have to pay for the 12 monthly downloadable audio MP3 coaching classes, but even the suggested price for possible future bliss doesn't seem too bad. Then again, the weekly e-zine is practically complimentary, and anyone with a computer can read and empathize with students' cries for help under "For High School, College Students and Recent Grads." We've all been there, done that and, without stress management, will probably do it again. But CampusCalm may just be hot enough to keep the collegiate calm, cool and collected.
