Two suspected drug dealers were arrested recently in separate busts in Lancaster city.

Hiram Lebron-Figueroa, 25, of Locust Street, and Roberto Taveras-Diaz, 35, of College Avenue, were charged with felony drug offenses. Taveras-Diaz is being investigated as a possible illegal immigrant.

Lebron-Figueroa was pulled over by Lancaster city police Sunday for suspected speeding. A background check revealed he was wanted on outstanding warrants and that he was driving with a suspended license.

After he was arrested, police searched his Lincoln sedan and found 644 bags of heroin packaged for sale in the back seat of the car, investigators said. He also had a large bundle of cash when he was arrested, police said.

He was charged with intent to deliver heroin and was cited for a pair of traffic violations.

Taveras-Diaz was arrested Thanksgiving Day on President Avenue, investigators said.

A Lancaster County Drug Task Force team apprehended Taveras-Diaz as he was returning from New York City with a load of cocaine, according to police.

Authorities said previous investigations implicated Taveras-Diaz as a possible drug dealer trafficking in Lancaster city.

The task force, executing a search warrant on Thursday, found 2½ pounds of cocaine stashed in a hidden compartment of Taveras-Diaz's Ford Windstar, police said.

The cocaine has an estimated street value of $100,000, according to task force detectives.

Taveras-Diaz was charged with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and a drug-free school zone violation.

Taveras-Diaz is a Dominican national in the U.S. illegally, detectives said. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is involved in that part of the investigation.

Taveras-Diaz is being held on $5 million bail.

Both men were at Lancaster County Prison Monday.
