A Lancaster woman might have had second thoughts after she allegedly stole a pizza delivery man's vehicle late Sunday night.
About 15 minutes after city police received word of the 11:35 p.m. vehicle theft at Lancaster General Hospital, officers spotted the missing 1998 Mitsubishi Galant in front of police headquarters on West Chestnut Street.
Diane Lynn Schley, 44, of 363 S. Ann St., was in the driver's seat, police said. Officers took her into custody, and she faces a theft charge, Officer William Genetti said.
The vehicle's owner, Yianis G. Hazipetros, 21, told police he had driven the car to General Hospital as he was making a delivery for House of Pizza, 23 W. Chestnut St., which is on the other side of North Market Street from the police building.
Hazipetros said he left the vehicle unattended and running in the traffic circle in front of the hospital's emergency room.
Schley allegedly entered the car and took it without reason, police said. Why she drove it back to West Chestnut Street also is not known.
Schley and the victim do not know each other, and she had no permission to drive the vehicle, police were told.
