Columbia by candlelight
The 31st annual Columbia Christmas by Candlelight Tour of Homes will be held 1 to
7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.
Among the 11 tour stops are the Columbia Museum of History (open till 5 p.m.) and the restored caretaker's home at the Historic Mount Bethel Cemetery.
There will also be a costumed Victorian Ball, horse and carriage rides, and a children's Christmas pageant and nativity scene at Columbia Presbyterian Church, 4th and Locust streets.
Tickets are available for $13 on the day of the tour, at the Columbia Market House, where there will be an antique and craft fair.
The tour is sponsored by the Columbia Downtown Development Corp. Proceeds benefit preservation and revitalization efforts.

Christmas at the level
Seven stops will be featured on the second Candy Canes and Holly Berries Christmas Tour of Homes in Quarryville, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29.
Tour proceeds will benefit the capital campaign for a family life center at Chestnut Level Presbyterian Church, 1068 Chestnut Level Road, Quarryville.
In addition to the home tour, cookies, candies, notecards, cookbooks, wreaths and other items handcrafted by members of the congregation will be sold at the church.
Cost is $12 in advance; $14 on the day of the tour. For tickets, call the church, 548-2763.
The church will celebrate its 300th anniversary in 2011.
