POINSETTIAS BENEFIT KIDS WITH DISABILITIES
Need a little red, white and pink to deck out your house for the holidays?

Think poinsettias.

Sales of these plants also benefit kids.

The S. June Smith Center recently kicked off its 12th annual poinsettia fundraiser.

Plants are $10 each and are sold in 6.5-inch gold-foil-wrapped pots, with three to four blooms per plant.

To place a poinsettia order, contact the S. June Smith Center, 299-4829, or go to www.sjunesmith.org.

Deadline for orders and payment is Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Pickup and delivery are scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, and Friday, Dec. 5.

Orders of 20 or more plants will be delivered by volunteers.

Plants can be picked up at the center's pickup location, at Suite 110, 1851 Charter Lane, Lancaster.

The space was donated by High Real Estate Group, to accommodate the fundraiser's growing needs.

Proceeds from the sale benefit Project Together, an inclusion program of the S. June Smith Center.

Founded in 1965, the nonprofit center provides early-intervention services for children from birth to age 6 with developmental disabilities.

In 2007, the center provided resources and therapy support for 1,200 children.
