Free health and vision screenings

Lancaster Partners for a Healthy Community will offer free health and vision screenings and dental care in Lancaster on Sunday for children and adults who lack adequate health insurance or dental coverage.

Sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield and United Concordia Companies Inc., the screenings will be provided from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at SouthEast Lancaster Health Services, 625 S. Duke St.

Free parking will be available at nearby schools and churches. Participants do not need to register in advance to receive services.

Health screenings will include glucose/sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol and bone-density tests and breast, asthma and vision exams.

Dental screenings and restorative procedures also will be provided.

Health care professionals will be available for individual consultations and to provide information on topics such as Medicaid and Pennsylvania's Children's Health Insurance Program.

Entertainment and refreshments will be provided all day.

Lancaster Partners for a Healthy Community includes SouthEast Lancaster Health Services, Community Action Program of Lancaster's Family Center, Crispus Attucks Community Center, Domestic Violence Services of Lancaster County, Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center, Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster County Council of Churches, School District of Lancaster, Urban League of Lancaster, Water Street Medical/Dental Clinic and Davis Vision/Total Vision Care.
