HOMEKEEPING
Saving energy
Dim your lights.
Using dimmers is one way to save energy in your home, according to American Lighting Association expert Monty Gilbertson.
Dimmers allow for greater flexibility in lighting-product selection and enable you to get multiple uses out of a room.
Other energy-saving suggestions include installing compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs and moving to Energy Star-qualified fixtures.
