Apparent gas leak leads to evacuation of home

Multiple rescue crews responded to a gas-leak call and an accident with entrapment this morning in west Lancaster suburbs.

The gas leak was reported at 8:30 a.m. at Rohrerstown Road and Dutch Gold Drive, near the Dutch Gold Business Center, just north of Rohrerstown.

A gas line reportedly was struck, and one residence had to be evacuated, a UGI official informed Lancaster County Control.

West Lancaster, Rohrerstown and East Petersburg firefighters and rescue crews responded along with an area Medic unit.

A little later, West Lancaster, Lancaster Township, and Southern Manheim Township firefighters and three medic units responded to a crash at Stonemill Road and Schoolhouse Road, south of Columbia Avenue, in Manor Township.

The crash, reported at 8:42 a.m., involved two vehicles and at least one person had to be freed. An
