A number of southern Lancaster County firefighters were fighting a two-alarm barn fire early this afternoon in Little Britain Township, below Quarryville.

The fire was reported before 2 o'clock at a barn on Clendenin Road at Fulton View Road.

The blaze quickly went to a second alarm, according to Lancaster County's emergency incidents Web page.

A total of 20 fire and rescue vehicles were at the scene, which is just east of Route 222 and both Swift Middle and Clermont Elementary schools.
