The Garcia family of four did not receive a welcoming invitation to their new home in Warwick Township Sunday.

After moving into the 2½-story home in the Rothsville Station Development Sunday, the family had to be evacuated from their home at 8 Santa Fe Drive after the garage caught fire.

No one was injured the fire.

A home next to the fire, 10 Santa Fe Drive, sustained serious damage on the side as a result from the heat of the fire.

The blaze was reported at 10 p.m., Lititz fire chief Sam Young said.

The fire started in the garage and, by the time firefighters arrived, quickly engulfed the entire home, Young said.

The fire became a two-alarm blaze, and more fire companies were requested. A total of 45 firefighters responded to the fire.

The flames were under control by 10:42 p.m., Young said.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. The state police fire marshal was not available for comment.

Fire companies from Lititz, Neffsville, Farmersville, Brunnerville, West Earl, Lincoln and Ephrata responded to the fire.

The Garcia family, which includes Hipolito Garcia Jr. and Valerie Garcia and their two children, is staying with relatives while being assisted with clothing and food from the Susquehanna Valley Red Cross.
