A 90-year-old Martindale woman who was robbed at gunpoint in her home last week died Saturday of an unspecified cause.

Anna M. Sensenig, 90, of Kurtz Road, Earl Township, died Saturday at Ephrata Community Hospital.

Lancaster County Coroner Dr. Stephen Diamantoni said the results of Sensenig's autopsy are pending, and he doesn't know when they will be released.

"We're still doing further investigations as part of that autopsy," Diamantoni said.

Members of Sensenig's family declined comment Monday night, saying the incident was a personal matter.

According to New Holland police, a robber, believed to be in his 20s, parked his car in Sensenig's driveway about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, telling her he needed help because his car had broken down.

After Sensenig gave him a small amount of money, he forced his way inside, police said, ransacking her home of 48 years, holding her at gunpoint and demanding more money. He disconnected a telephone in the home while making demands.

The robber and his car — a dark-colored sedan or compact vehicle — match descriptions from armed robberies last week in East Earl and East Cocalico townships, police said.

Terre Hill Mart on Main Street was robbed the night of June 17 by a pair of men, with one of the men wielding a black pistol and demanding cash. When the clerk refused, one of the men took the entire cash register and fled, the clerk said.

Witnesses told police the getaway vehicle had a Pennsylvania license plate that includes the sequence "GLG."

Also last week, a Subway restaurant in East Cocalico Township was robbed by an armed bandit.

New Holland, East Earl and East Cocalico police and other county law-enforcement agencies are assisting in the search for the robber. A Lancaster County forensic team was called to help process the crime scene at Kurtz Road.

Born in Earl Township, Sensenig was the daughter of the late David M. and Etta (Myers) Burkholder.

Sensenig was a homemaker and a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.

Anyone with information about the home invasion should contact New Holland police at 354-4647. Anyone with information about the other two robberies should call Lancaster City-County Crime Stoppers at (800) 322-1913. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
