Andy Baldwin, star of ABC's "The Bachelor: Officer and a Gentleman," will visit Clipper Magazine Stadium for the Barnstormers game against the Bridgeport Bluefish, Saturday, June 7.
His visit to the game will be the first Barnstormers game he has seen since Clipper Magazine Stadium opened in downtown Lancaster in 2005.
A Phillies fan, Baldwin is an eight-time Ironman finisher. He was an All-American swimmer at his alma mater, Manheim Township High School, where he also ran cross country. He was named ESPN's National Scholar/Athlete of the year in 1995, his senior year, when he was also class valedictorian.
Baldwin received a full Navy ROTC scholarship to Duke University and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He completed his medical degree in 2003, when he graduated from the University of California-San Francisco School of Medicine.
Baldwin currently resides in Washington, D.C. where he works for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery as a Navy medicine advocate, and was previously stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as an undersea medical officer.
Baldwin has been a leader in humanitarian efforts throughout his career. He founded the non-profit program Got-Your-Back to support families of fallen military heroes and was named Humanitarian of the Year in 2006 by both Triathlete and Competitor magazines for work he did on a mission to Laos.
During his visit to Clipper Magazine Stadium, Baldwin will sign autographs from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., throw out a ceremonial first pitch and will make a pre-game donation to the Lancaster General Cancer Care Program, the Barnstormers 2008 Community Partner.
