About 50 firefighters responded to a chimney fire at 59 Frogtown Road in Paradise Township today.

The 8:15 a.m. fire was quickly controlled without injuries or extensive damage, said Lt. Nick Summers of the Kinzer Fire Department. Summers said the fire spread to a second-floor closet and the attic of the house. He estimated the damage at less than $1,000.

Along with Kinzer, firefighters from Paradise, Gap, Intercourse and New Holland also were dispatched. The incident was cleared after about an hour and a half, said Summers.
