A 44-year-old man allegedly threatened to strike four people with a baseball bat and tire iron Tuesday night in his Salisbury Township home, Ephrata state police said.
"Which one of you wants to go to the hospital?" William Frederick Bradford, of 894 Red Hill Road, East Earl, allegedly said to the victims. Two 16-year-old boys were among those threatened, police said.
Troopers arrested Bradford on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment. He was taken to city police headquarters for arraignment.
All the victims and Bradford live at the Red Hill Road home. Troopers were sent there at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a domestic altercation, Trooper James Algeo said.
Bradford allegedly had threatened Sharon Bradford, 45, with a baseball bat, which the woman grabbed from him. He then poked Sharon Bradford in the back with his finger and pushed her, police were told.
Tyler Manion, 18, came home, saw what was happening, and called 911. Bradford then allegedly grabbed a tire iron from a shed and threatened Sharon Bradford, Manion, and the two 16-year-olds, police said.
Earlier Tuesday, Lancaster City police charged Brian D. Anderson, 48, of 622 N. Shippen St., with terroristic threats from an incident in the downtown area.
As customers entered Wachovia bank, 100 N. Queen St., at about 11 a.m., they heard a man yelling "don't go in there; there's a bomb," police said.
A bank employee heard the threat, and the building was evacuated.
There was no bomb. Police stopped Anderson at the bus terminal on North Queen Street, and witnesses identified him as the person who had been yelling.
Police arrested Anderson, and Officer Peter Velez charged him with terroristic threats. Anderson was committed to Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bail, police said.
