A motorcyclist missed a curve on a Brecknock Township road near Bowmansville Tuesday night, and his  cycle struck two women riding bicycles, Ephrata state police said.

The cyclist and both women suffered major injuries, Ephrata state police said. All three were flown to Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

The 8:32 accident happened in the 100 block of Pleasant Valley Road, between Route 625 and Good Road,  south of Bowmansville.

Adam Eugene Nolt, 21, East Earl, was operating the 2005 Harley-Davidson cycle west on Pleasant Valley Road, Ephrata state police Trooper Jerry Harper said.

Nolt missed a left curve, and his cycle entered the eastbound lane, striking two bicycles head-on, Harper said.

Two women, believed to be in their early 20s, had been  riding east in the eastbound lane. Their identities were unavailable. Both were thrown off their bikes from the impact, and Nolt was thrown from his cycle, police said.

Helicopters transported all three victims to the Reading hospital where they were listed in critical condition  Tuesday night. Nolt was still listed as critical this morning. No updated condition information was available about the bike riders.

Bowmansville firefighters and ambulance crews from Fivepointville, Reamstown, Ephrata and New Holland assisted state police at the scene.

Jennifer L. Bawell, 26, of Lancaster, who was injured in a Tuesday morning crash on Route 322 in Caernarvon Township is listed in fair condition at Lancaster General Hospital, a hospital  supervisor reported this morning.

Bawell's car struck a utility pole at 3:22 near the Pool Forge Road/Narvon Road intersection, Ephrata state police said.

The woman was driving west, lost control of her 1997 Hyundai Accent, and the car spun into the pole, Trooper Janssen M. Herb reported.

Early today, Lancaster state police,  Pequea and Rawlinsville firefighters, and area ambulance crews responded to a crash with a reported injury at  Nissley Lane and Martic Heights Drive in Martic Township.

A vehicle struck a tree, and wires fell, Lancaster County Control dispatchers said. One person was transported to Lancaster General Hospital following the 5:39 crash.

A Chester County man was injured in a three-vehicle crash shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday on Route 41 in Salisbury Township, Lancaster state police said.

William E. Slagle, 58, of New Columbia, Union County, was driving north on Route 41, failed to stop, and his vehicle struck the back of a minivan driven by Mirna E. Rosa-Rodriguez, 44, of Columbia, Trooper William J. Colvin said.

The Slagle vehicle then struck the driver side of a vehicle driven by Eugene Preston Brown, 50, of West Grove, the trooper said.

Brown was injured, and a White Horse ambulance crew transported him to a medical facility.
