Thieves struck several times across Lancaster County over the weekend, and the stolen items included an ice machine and fryer for french fries that belonged to a Manheim Township restaurant.
Employees of Highland Pizzeria, 707 Olde Hickory Road, had placed the ice machine and fryer outside the business in preparation to be moved to another location. The items were stolen Friday night, and the estimated loss was $2,000, police said.
Also on Friday night, burglars entered the Blue Ribbon Mulch & Stone firm, 1450 Reading Road (Route 625), Mohnton, which is in Brecknock Township, and stole a cash register, Ephrata state police said.
The cash register was found at about 7:30 a.m. Saturday on Laurel Road in Brecknock Township. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Ephrata state police at 721-7667.
Also reported stolen were:
• Two antique birdhouses taken from the porch of a home in the first block of West Orange Street in Lititz on March 15-16.
The victims said the birdhouses had been passed down by family members and are irreplaceable. Anyone with information about the theft or who wants a description of the the missing birdhouses is asked to contact Lititz police at 626-6393.
• A Toshiba MP-3 player, accessories, and about $12 cash that a thief removed from a book bag on the floor of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of North Queen Street on Thursday morning..
• A latptop computer and case that a thief grabbed from a 2000 Dodge truck between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of East Marion Street. The estimated loss was $3,000.
• A $469 cell phone and a $569 cell phone that were reported stolen Friday afternoon from a store at Red Rose Commons shopping center, 1700 Fruitville Pike.
n Four bottles of perfume, valued at $75, that a shoplifter grabbed at the TJ Maxx store, 832 Plaza Blvd., at about 3:30 p.m Friday.
• Two tool sets valued at $299 and $65 worth of DVD movies that shoplifters stole from the Kmart store, 1890 Fruitville Pike in separate incidents.
A heavy-set, bald man in his 30s took the tool sets at about 10:15 a.m. Friday, while a woman stole the movies shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Manheim Township police said.
